Terms of service. Plain English, no fine print.

How working with us works: quotes, payment, ownership and what happens if plans change. Your written quote covers the specifics of your project.

Last updated 3 October 2026

These terms apply when you use this website or work with PAGEBOLT, a Shopify agency based in Sydney, Australia. When we say "we" or "us", we mean PAGEBOLT. When we say "you", we mean you or the business you represent. If your written quote says something different from these terms, the quote wins for that project.

Using this website

Everything on this site is general information, not professional advice for your business. Prices and fees from other companies, like Shopify's plans and card rates, change from time to time, so check them with the provider before relying on them. Please don't copy our content, designs or code without asking first.

Quotes and scope

Launch and Rebuild projects have a fixed price. After a free strategy call, we send you a written quote setting out what's included, the price and the timeline. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

If you want something that isn't in the quote, we'll tell you what it costs before we do it. Nothing is added to your bill without your OK.

Accelerate work is billed by the hour. We estimate each job in hours before we start, and if it turns out bigger than expected, we tell you before going over.

Payment

  • Launch and Rebuild: 50% deposit to book your start date, and the other 50% before the store goes live.
  • Accelerate: A$50 an hour, billed only for the hours actually worked. No retainer and no minimum spend.
  • Invoices are due within 7 days.
  • All prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST, which is added to your invoice.

If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work until it's paid, and we'll tell you before we do.

Costs from other companies

Your Shopify plan, apps, premium themes, fonts, stock images, ad spend and email platform are paid by you, directly to each provider, from accounts in your business's name. We never mark them up.

What we need from you

Projects run on time when we get content, feedback and account access when we need them. If those arrive late, the timeline moves too. You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to the content you give us, like logos, photos and product copy, and for the products, claims and policies on your own store.

Revisions and approval

Launch includes two rounds of revisions on the design. Further changes are billed at the Accelerate rate. You see and approve everything on a preview before it goes live.

After launch

Launch includes 30 days of support after the store goes live. In that time we fix anything that isn't working as agreed in the work we delivered, at no charge. New features and changes after launch run on Accelerate, or you can take the keys and run the store yourself.

Who owns what

Your accounts are yours. Your Shopify store, domain, ad accounts, pixels, Merchant Center and email platform sit in your business's name. We're given access, and you can remove it any time.

The work becomes yours once it's paid for. When you've paid in full, you own the custom theme code and designs we made for your project. Until then, we keep ownership.

Some things belong to other companies and stay under their own licences, like Shopify itself, apps, premium themes, fonts and stock images. We also keep our general know-how and any tools or code we use across many projects; you get a permanent licence to use them as part of your store.

We may show the work in our portfolio and case studies. If you'd rather we didn't, just tell us.

Results

We'll do careful, honest work, but we can't guarantee specific results like sales, conversion rates, Google rankings, ad returns or being recommended by AI assistants. Those depend on things outside our control, like your products, your market and how other platforms change.

Pausing or ending a project

Either of us can end a project by telling the other in writing. If a fixed-price project ends early, you pay for the work done up to that point. If that's less than your deposit, we refund the difference. Accelerate work can stop at any time, and you only pay for hours already worked.

Confidentiality

We keep your business information, sales numbers and store data private, and only use them to do your work. How we handle personal information is covered in our privacy policy.

Liability

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, and as far as the law allows:

  • if something we did isn't right, we'll fix it or, if that's not possible, refund what you paid for that part of the work;
  • we aren't responsible for indirect losses, like lost profits or sales;
  • we aren't responsible for outages, changes or problems caused by Shopify, apps or other third-party services.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top when we do. The terms in place when you accept a quote apply to that project. Questions? Email hello@pagebolt.com.au.
